FEATURED PROJECTS

SAS MUJEL

A choreographic intervention in the Alpine Landscape

The dance, the sculpture and the challenging terrain make this half hour into an independent, memorable experience.
— about Sas Mujel by Michael Denzer

FREMDE FREUNDE

A physical reflection on coexistence—where proximity and distance shape how we meet and transform one another.

ANATOMY OF FREEDOM

A collaboration with Sandra Kramerova exploring autonomy within the body and the forces that shape it.

UP CLOSE is a group performance that explores the shifting relationship between individuality and collectivity. Through constellations of bodies, proximity becomes a site of negotiation, where attention, rhythm, and gaze continuously reorganise. The choreography asks where strength emerges - from within, or in the moment we begin to move together.

Informed by choreographic research at ArtEZ University of the Arts, the work is currently being developed and will be shared at the Alps Move Festival in October 2026.

CHOREOGRAPHIC Works

Each work unfolds on its own page, offering further insight through text, media, and press.

But it wouldn’t be cyclical ‘happiness’ if everything didn’t go to the beginning at the end. An extremely powerful piece [...] that gets to the heart of its message.

Approach & Philosophy

Anastasia Kostner’s choreographic work grows from improvisation, somatic awareness, and interdisciplinary dialogue. With a background in Rolfing, she approaches the body as a responsive system of sensation, structure, and relationship. Movement emerges through collaborative research with performers, where improvisation becomes a tool for uncovering physical intelligence, personal imagination, and unexpected connections between bodies.
These explorations are gradually shaped into clear choreographic compositions that often intersect with music, visual art, and other artistic media. Humor, intimacy, and moments of raw physical presence coexist in her work, allowing different layers of human experience to surface on stage.
Through this process, Anastasia Kostner creates performances that invite audiences into a shared sensory landscape—where vulnerability, playfulness, and the complexity of the body can unfold.
”In my work, I am interested in creating spaces where perception shifts and relationships between bodies, sound, and environment can unfold in unexpected ways.”

Anastasia with her sophisticated craftsmanship in dance and choreography and both a trained and intuitive eye for detail is the utmost inspiring collaborator and rehearsal director. Her leadership is clear and purposeful, yet soft and empathetic. Anastasia’s artistic vision has a timeless and universal quality and the combination of her bright mind  and refined dance technique make her a unique and poetic dance artist. Anastasia contributes to any creative and performance process in an indispensable way by bringing quality and care into the collaboration while making everyone around her shine.
