LOOK

SOULSEARCHING MEDIA

LOOK is a site-specific performance that unfolds within the saturation of contemporary media landscapes. A striving body is gradually overtaken—absorbed into a flow of images, information, and projections that blur the boundaries between self and representation.

As layers accumulate, identity begins to fragment. The face—once a marker of presence—dissolves into a surface shaped by external forces. The work moves through states of hyper-normalisation, where repetition and exposure create a sense of detachment from lived experience.

What remains when perception is mediated to this extent? LOOK traces the tension between visibility and disappearance, questioning how the self is constructed, distorted, and ultimately displaced within a media-saturated environment.

Commissioned by Bolzano Danza, the work was presented in various site-specific contexts across Europe, amongst others at Bolzano Danza, Mittelfest (IT), and La Bequée Festival (FR).
