Under the skin

UNder the skin

A co-production with Tanzschmiede / Fucinadanza

With a strong dance technique Kostner, Clifford, Kramerova and Ziviani show impressive dance portraits about suffering or surpassing a crisis. The four solos remind us of the four seasons of the corona pandemic. And Under the skin does indeed crawl under your skin.
— Anita Twaalfhoven, Theaterkrant

Under the Skin unfolds as a series of four intimate solos, each tracing a personal response to the uncertainty and isolation of the pandemic period. Rather than illustrating a shared narrative, the work moves through individual physical landscapes—where memory, sensation, and emotion surface through distinct movement vocabularies.

Set against a time marked by disruption and disorientation, the piece reflects on how crisis enters the body. Each performer navigates her own thresholds—between control and vulnerability, resistance and adaptation—revealing how deeply external conditions shape internal states.

What emerges is not a resolution, but a transformation: crisis as a space of encounter with the unknown. Through this process, Under the Skin opens a space where fragility and strength coexist, allowing new forms of presence to take shape.

UNDER THE SKIN - IMPRESSION

Very differently, Anastasia Kostner lets us taste the bitterness of the present moment in her piece Under the skin, consisting of four solos. It is gorgeous like a celebrated club night.
